recreance
a poem
Inconvenient sickness at
An inopportune time
But inevitable as
Sunlight
You did it!
Among the waldos
And the rusted derricks
The manifold gantries
An iron hull constructed
For keelhauling hearts
Fall on your sword
Such valiant gallantry
Reap what sown
Come what may
A dalliance, gallantly
Said so valiantly
The farriers, the ferriers
You fair-haired harrier
The midnight shiver
The bow bent and
Final arrow
For an empty quiver
Dazzle, dazzle zircon
Glimmer, glimmer wisp
Pitter-patter raindrop
Sappy saccharine kiss
Master manipulator
Mystic conniption
The forty four ways
The mask can slip
Revealing nothing
Rushing heartbeat
From the boy you love most
Is that your body heat
Or just another ghost?
Upon the after laughter
The guerilla war won
Well done, well done
We-e-ell
Done
Great! good hunting
Victory
Victory!
A red flower flung
For five fingers, unwanting

Felt this viscerally. Recreance only happens when there was real devotion first. Abandoning that is big.
