Well did you read the part where I spent 12 hours a day at work? I had no life besides that :( it’s not AS bad if you’re young and single I guess but it still is soul crushing
OMG, this totally reminded me of my time in corporate America. Working hours that long with the same people 5-6 days a week creates great friendships. But the toll it takes on your life is ultimately not worth it. This is such a great collection of stories! I loved reading it. Glad you found a better spot.
You are so right. When I get nostalgic about it, it’s really the camaraderie. But the camaraderie was really borne of a shared trauma that’s almost familial by necessity. Still friends with a lot of the guys I referred to and have been texting them today!
Shared trauma - exactly! Makes me wonder how many people out there are experiencing or have experienced the same thing at a job. I mean, we can do better than this, right?! Crazy.
I’m not even halfway done reading but I wanted to say rq, im a freelance copywriter and I’ve been doing it for quite some time. I’m sure yk even in your own capacity how ideation can sometimes be a struggle. If I was surrounded by you and your team, stg I’d NEVER run out of ideas 😭makes me wanna start my own copy agency so I can build a team of cool people just like this (but not a corporation obviously). I love your storytelling prose, phenomenally written as always Breau
NEVER WANTED TO GO INTO MARKETING MORE--

you mean. iT WASNT???? NERF GUNS. DOGS. IN AN OFFICE.
HELP WHY DOES THAT SOUND SO AGGRESSIVE i need to stop caps locking myself--

Thanks for reading about our good times :) it might be the worst VO I have ever done, sorry in advance
Hmm. I've worked in marketing with all the stress and chaos. But none of *this* kind of fun. I think I'm doing it wrong??
Did you have an inhouse dev team? Maybe that’s the thing….
Inhouse errrrything typically. creative, production…

This does sound fun! Minus the fact that you basically lived at your job. VO is 10/10 as always!
