evanesce
a poem
The canopy call like rushed shadow
What is the diamond sheen
In the infinite black
Of your pupils?
A shrapnel strike like
Hateful spikes of morning dew
Frozen
As the silence of the
Words that won’t escape your throat
Just say it?
Say it and be done
Run away, run away,
Little one
The gaze of a moon’s halo
Hushes my heart for awhile
Oh that sad smile
And nightjar style
Press your attack
And claim your advantage
Hands up, heart high
Starstruck raven sky
You can dream this for a while
I’ll keep it like a secret
You can dream it forever
And I’ll promise not to
Sing it
No, I won’t sing it….
But there’s no hiding the music
Of those lyrics you wrote
In between the heartbeats
Of a thing thought
Broken!
So broken and so mended
Why did you do this
Why were you so cruel
Where were you so…
You?
Don’t be afraid of monsters
That shake you to your core
Or all the little empires
Scattered on your floor
Or all the angry raptures
Knocking at your door
Goodbye moonbeam and don’t come back
Wait forever on your starlight track
My dear starbeam in endless black
Your meteor man resplendent
He always needs you back

Gorgeous. I might have restacked almost every stanza. Love this one.
I've seen the word 'yearning' thrown around this place for a while now .. but not a single time as beautifully as you have just now Beau. This is incredible (I hope I understood.. memories of yearning are what I ended up feeling)
